JAA Code of Conduct
The
conduct of players involved in games is covered under Little
League rules. This code of conduct is for anyone else on the
grounds of Walter L. Stephenson Park, including parents and
players not involved in games.
The Yorktown Junior Athletic Association promotes good sportsmanship by its athletes, coaches, and fans. We request your cooperation by
supporting the participants and officials in a positive
manner. Profanity, racial or sexist comments, or other intimidating actions directed at officials, players, coaches, team representatives, or anyone else, will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from Walter L. Stephenson Park.
Unauthorized persons are not permitted in team dugouts or on the playing field. This includes parents and players not in the uniform of a team participating in the game. League authorized photographers are permitted on the field in foul ball territory only.
The throwing of objects onto the playing field is strictly prohibited.
The progress of a game will not be disrupted by a fan’s
actions. Game umpires have the authority to eject fans from the ballpark, if necessary with the assistance of the Yorktown Police Department.
Fans will refrain from displays of affection
not appropriate in a public, family setting.
Climbing or hurdling fences is strictly prohibited in Walter L. Stephenson Park.
Use of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages is not permitted on Yorktown Community School property.
Per Yorktown Community School Board Policy #7510,
pets are not permitted on school property except Seeing Eye dogs or approved by an administrator. Walter L. Stephenson Park is on Yorktown Community School property, so pets are not permitted.
Intervention with unruly guests or those unwilling to comply with park conduct rules will be handled in a prompt and safe manner and, if necessary will include assistance from the
Yorktown Police Department.
